Herkimer BOCES Board of Education President Daniel LaLonde and Vice President Thomas Shypski were recently re-elected to their sixth consecutive one-year terms in the positions.
The Herkimer BOCES Board of Education along with Herkimer BOCES administrators hosted a reception on June 14 for employees retiring at the close of the 2017-18 school year and employees who received tenure and CSEA employees who achieved permanent status.

More than three dozen local adults recently took a huge step forward in their healthcare careers by graduating from the Herkimer BOCES adult practical nursing program.
Forty-one local adults recently earned their diplomas through the Herkimer BOCES adult education literacy program.
Herkimer BOCES Technical Education Principal Kathy Fox called this year’s Career and Technical Education graduates strong-willed, independent and having the ability to persevere. The Herkimer BOCES CTE Class of 2018 included 199 students from 13 CTE programs.
The Special Programs Class of 2018 graduation ceremony included students introducing their family members, giving flowers to their families, receiving awards and recognitions and providing some final thoughts before graduation. A donation was also made to the Guardians of Freedom Memorial.
This year’s golf tournament is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 6, at the Cedar Lake Club. Registration is at 9 a.m., and there will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
