    Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES provides more than 50 cooperative programs and services for 10 component districts in the Mohawk Valley region of New York.  Most programs are provided at the William E. Busacker Complex in East Herkimer.
    The career and technical center boasts 13 different programs, including a fully operational audio and video broadcast facility and a construction program that builds a single-family home made to owner’s specifications each year.  A cross-curricular strand in renewable energy provides students the opportunity to produce biodiesel fuel and study photovoltaics and wind power.  A wide range of special education and related services are provided in fully integrated settings in local schools as well as at the complex.
    The BOCES cooperates with community partners to offer fully integrated preschool and prekindergarten programs.  Adult offerings include an LPN program with both day and evening sessions.  In addition, Herkimer BOCES is the lead agency for Literacy Zone and the homeless and employee preparation education grant. It also serves migrant students in 13 counties.  A Regional Service Center, located in Ilion, provides both instructional and non-instructional support. The non-instructional Support division includes a central business office, cooperative purchasing, and health services management.  Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES is also home to a three-BOCES School Board Training Service.
    Most recently published audited figures state that Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton Otsego BOCES provided more than $24.8 million in services, which generated more than $11 million in aid to its school districts.
