PBIS Coordinator

The PBIS coordinator assists participating districts in interpreting and complying with federal and state regulations in order to maintain a safe and healthy environment, by addressing physical and mental health matters, as well as safety, environmental, school climate and bullying and harassment issues.

The PBIS coordinator provides participating districts with services related to the following areas as a base service:

  • Dignity for All Students Act (DASA)

  • Crisis Response Planning

  • School Safety

  • School Climate

  • Staff Wellness

  • Trainings

The PBIS coordinator provides services, including coordinating counseling needs, staff presentations on wellness and mindfulness, crisis response assistance, crisis team training. Provides plan templates, to assist with the proper handling of school-wide crisis, which is essential to minimizing the negative impact on learning and mental health.

The intent of DASA is to ensure a safe and supportive educational environment for public elementary and secondary students, free from discrimination, intimidation, harassment and bullying on school property, on a school bus, at a school function, or online. The PBIS Coordinator is available to provide technical assistance, training, and programming to help your district meet the goals and requirements of DASA compliance including DASA Refresher Trainings, Dignity Act Coordinator training, staff and/or student presentations.

Level II services available to participating districts include: DASA Remediation Plan assistance, Dignity Act Certification Training, Dignity Act Coordinator Training, NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training).
