Component school boards approve Herkimer BOCES 2019-20 administrative budget

The Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES component school boards approved the $2.92 million Herkimer BOCES administrative budget for the 2019-20 school year on Wednesday, April 24.
Component district school boards took a vote on whether to approve the BOCES administrative budget and then cast an overall vote as a board. Nine of the 10 Herkimer BOCES component school districts conducted votes on the budget, and those nine boards unanimously approved the budget.
The component school boards also voted for three Herkimer BOCES Board of Education members. Current members Janine Lynch, representing West Canada Valley Central School District, and Daniel Voce, representing Herkimer Central School District, were re-elected. Jane North, representing Central Valley Central School District, was elected to the board for the first time. All of the seats are for three-year terms from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2022.
Lynch has been serving on the Herkimer BOCES Board of Education since 2016 and the West Canada Valley Board of Education since 2015. She works for MetLife Insurance Co.
Voce has been serving on the Herkimer BOCES Board of Education since 2010 and previously served on the Herkimer Board of Education. He is a packaging manager at the F.X. Matt Brewing Co. in Utica.
North, a first-time member of the Herkimer BOCES Board of Education, has been serving on the Central Valley Board of Education since 2016. She runs her own business, Cut It Up North Salon.
