Building Construction teacher speaking to sophomore visitors

Sophomores from the 10 Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES component school districts visited the Herkimer BOCES career and technical education center on Wednesday, March 6, to learn more about programs offered.

During Sophomore Visitation Day, students were able to tour classrooms and labs, and they had a chance to meet instructors and current students. The visitation allowed students to find programs that match their interests to guide them towards a path of doing what they love after graduation. Each program prepares students for success in career and college, with many programs offering opportunities to earn professional certifications and advance college credit.

The public is invited to attend the Herkimer BOCES Career and Technical Education Open House 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at the William E. Busacker Complex at 352 Gros Blvd. in Herkimer to discover what the career and technical education center has to offer. Teachers will be present to speak about the benefits of their programs, including fulfilling high school credit requirements, real-world job experience and earning college credit while enrolled.
