Supervisor of Safety Services Adam Hutchinson

  • Supervise Safety Service Staff,

  • Handle CoSer related questions,

  • Coordinate and provide “Opening Day” mandated Safety Trainings,

  • Coordinate online training services,

  • Assist in development of Emergency and Safety Plans,

  • Develop and facilitate emergency response exercises,

  • Assist Staff with inspections and other activities, and

  • Point of Contact w/regional & statewide agencies.

 

PBIS Coordinator Kellie Maxwell

  • Point of contact for Dignity for All Students, Bullying, Mental Health emergencies,

  • Provide Certifications: DASA 6-hour certification, QPR (Suicide Prevention), CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification, etc.,

  • Resource for PBIS, Assessments & Interventions,

  • Conduct mental health, bullying, conflict resolution, boundaries, etc. trainings,

  • DASA Services: student presentations, investigation assistance, reporting training, remedial action & follow-up assistance, Dignity Act Coord. Training, and

  • Crisis Response assistance after a traumatic event.

 

School Facilities Advisor Donald Maxwell

  • Point of contact for districts’ Directors of Facilities, Maintenance, Custodial, and Buildings & Grounds staff,

  • Conduct Annual Fire Inspections, 6-month & Triennial Asbestos Inspections, and Playground Safety Inspections,

  • Emergency Response assistance after maintenance or equipment related event,

  • Assist with school environmental concerns, etc.,

  • Accompany district staff on Dept. of Labor inspections and assist with addressing deficiencies and remedial activities,

  • Resource for facilities, maintenance, buildings & grounds, and custodial matters,

  • Provide trainings including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout, Fire Safety, Asbestos Awareness, etc., and

  • Review required documentation.

 

School Safety Advisor James Garcia

  • Point of contact between districts and First Responders (Police, Fire, EMS, etc.),

  • Resource for SROs & school security questions,

  • Assist with penal law matters/potential criminal matters,

  • Conduct security and emergency response trainings, including but not limited to Active Shooter Response, Greeter Safety, etc.,

  • Assist districts with planning, assessment, and conducting safety drills,

  • Review traffic patterns/procedures for drop-off/pick-up times,

  • Conduct debriefing after emergency incidents, and

  • Assist Supervisor of Safety Services with exercises & plan development.

SDS sheets:
To access and/or retrieve a Safety Data Sheet, follow the steps below:

  1. Call 1-866-724-6650 and press 2

  2. Select the SDS option.

  3. Tell the chemical specialist the name of the chemical.

The specialist can then:

  • Fax or email the SDS to you, an ambulance, fire truck or healthcare facility.

  • Give you information from the SDS, such as health hazards, how to protect yourself when using the chemical, fire response, proper handling and storage, first aid measures, spill cleanup and management, or what to do in case of an emergency.

  • If you have an unusual chemical or the SDS is not available, the specialist will cross-reference the product to similar products or chemicals. If necessary, the specialist will contact the manufacturer, doctor, or toxicologist.
