TRACING PLAN

DEFINITIONS:

  • Close Contacts: Someone within 6 feet for at least 10 minutes of a confirmed case

  • Proximate Contacts: Someone in the same room as a confirmed case for an hour or more

HFHO will ensure compliance with the New York State Contact Tracing Program.

Confidentiality must be maintained as required by federal and state laws and regulations. Staff are not to determine who is to be excluded from school based on contact as this is the responsibility of the local health department.

If/when COVID-19 cases are discovered in BOCES, HFHO BOCES will consult with the local Public Health Department and the New York State Department of Health. The process for closing school and/or classrooms will be dependent upon many variables such as the nature and size of the outbreak, as well as the number of positive cases.
