Prospective READiTEC Students and Parents

Students interested in the READiTEC program should please contact their home district counselor to begin the application process. Each district is awarded a set number of slots based on their district size. Students will work with their counselor to determine if READiTEC is an appropriate fit and complete the registration application together.

Counselors & School Staff

If a student is interested in attending READiTEC, counselors and staff will receive parent/guardian permission to submit the application on behalf of the student. Completed applications must also include the following:

  • Completed Registration Form signed by District Principal

  • Most Recent Report Card

  • Secondary Transcript

  • IEP or 504 Plan (if applicable)

  • Psychological Evaluation (if applicable)

  • Behavior Intervention Plan  (if applicable)

  • Discipline History

  • Medical History

  • Attendance History

  • Career Interest Survey / Plan

Completed applications can then be scanned via email to Courtney Bishop at cbishop@herkimer-boces.org or sent by school mail.

Herkimer BOCES administrators and counselors will then review applications for acceptance into the READiTEC program. Once students have been accepted, Herkimer BOCES will notify school district counselors to complete the School Tool Data Transfer. Students will then receive an acceptance letter in the mail with program and dress code requirements.
