Students completing high school through the Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES Pathways Academy at Remington were honored during the Pathways Academy Senior Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, June 18.
The seniors were celebrated while wearing caps and gowns in a graduation-style ceremony at the Herkimer BOCES Remington Educational Complex in Ilion.
The Herkimer BOCES Pathways Academy is an alternative education school that focuses on students from component districts who have had a difficult time in a traditional school structure or have to catch up on credits but have the ability to get a high school diploma. Pathways Academy classes are project-driven and infuse career and technical education.
Seniors who were recognized were: Faith Amendolare (West Canada Valley), Douglas Bruce (Herkimer), Adrianna Burris (Herkimer), Dayton DuPont (West Canada Valley), Nathan Elthorp (Frankfort-Schuyler), Brayden Hubbard (Poland), Logan Matis (Frankfort-Schuyler), Kalib Milisci (Frankfort-Schuyler), Adam Rogers (Herkimer), Dominick Salvagni (West Canada Valley), Gianna Seelman (Frankfort-Schuyler), Frank Tomei (Little Falls), Matthew Witte (Frankfort-Schuyler) and Ja'Lil Woodard (Central Valley).
During the event, Hubbard led the “Pledge of Allegiance,” Pathways Academy Principal Cory Pike welcomed guests and gave closing remarks, dinner and desserts were served, DuPont gave the student speech, Pathways Academy Principal Assistant Principal Terrence Campo gave the guest speech and seniors were announced.
