Today's Spotlight is on Tammy Hagadorn, a Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES office assistant 1 - or as students call her: Ms. Tammy.
Q. About when did you start working in your current position at Herkimer BOCES?
A. January 2025

Q. What led you to your current position at Herkimer BOCES?
A. I have many years of experience with the business office duties and home visiting with the Healthy Families programs in both Herkimer and Oneida counties. The importance of being dedicated, education and the bonds created.

Q. What do you find rewarding about working in your current position?
A. My position is rewarding because I get to be part of an amazing program that is dedicated to all the students. I witness the rewards of all the work that everyone that's part of the SPED programs give to our students .

Q. When did you first know you wanted to work in this field and what made you feel that way?
A. It’s rewarding to be a part and see the growth of all our students.

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer BOCES special?
A. The combination of all the employees and all our students.

Q. Did you attend Herkimer BOCES in high school? If so, what program were you in and what year did you graduate?
A. I attended the Health Services program [currently known as Health Science Careers] in 1986-87.

Q. Did you attend any of the Herkimer BOCES component school districts in high school? If so, which one and what year did you graduate?
A. Little Falls 1988.

Q. How does it make you feel to now be working at Herkimer BOCES after previously going to school here?
A. It feels wonderful. I always have and still do believe all BOCES programs are amazing.

Q. How did BOCES help you in your career?
A. After I graduated high school and the BOCES Health Services program, I did work as a physical therapy aide and physical therapy office work for some years.

Q. What value do you believe Herkimer BOCES provides for students and/or the community?
A. It’s a wonderful value and amazing opportunity.
