A. Sept. 29, 2025

Q. What led you to your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

A. I’ve been trying to gain my teaching certificate, and by chance, the opportunity came up through family. Upon meeting with the school, I was offered the position, and I am so happy to accept!

Q. What do you find rewarding about working in your current position?

A. Helping the students with everyday curriculum and getting the chance to share all of the great facets of CTE with them through creative, fun and interactive lessons.

-

Q. When did you first know you wanted to work in this field and what made you feel that way?

A. From a young age, I have enjoyed similar roles in scouting, and I always looked up to several of my teachers. This always begged the question if I could ever mentor the way they taught and inspired me. Also, seeing my mom gain her certification later on in life inspired me to advance into teaching, and I am so glad I made the leap!

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer BOCES special?

A. The people I work with and the wide array of programs! Plus, the facilities are top tier from what I have seen so far! Truly a great place for the kids to learn and grow!

Q. What value do you believe Herkimer BOCES provides for students and/or the community?

A. They are preparing their students to become professionals that will continue to grow our communities later on in life. The students will learn essential services that will be of huge benefit to them, shaping a path ahead for their futures.
