About when did you start working in your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

I started working at Herkimer BOCES in September of this year (2025).

What led you to your current position at Herkimer BOCES?

This is my eighth year of being a full-time music teacher. I have taught in a few different school environments over the years including a city school district, a rural district and a small K-12 district. I was very excited to hear about the Herkimer BOCES autism program at the WEB! This sounded like a unique job position for a music teacher, and I was interested in learning more about the position and programing.

What do you find rewarding about working in your current position?

I laugh and smile every day! The kids are so much fun, and there is always something new happening every day. The staff at Herkimer BOCES is so amazing, and I have already made many new friends at the WEB Complex!

When did you first know you wanted to work in this field and what made you feel that way?

I have always loved music. Growing up, I played violin and piano, sang in many choirs and a jazz ensemble and performed in musicals. My first job at 16 was working at a daycare center, and I have many family members in the field of education. Being a music teacher seemed like it would be the perfect fit for me!
