Mohawk Valley Ambulance Corps staff members brought three vehicles to Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES on Tuesday, April 28, to allow students from the Health Science Careers and Criminal Justice programs to tour the vehicles.

MOVAC paramedic Michael Bartkowiak said he brings the vehicles each year to help introduce the career option to students, and it sometimes helps students decide they want to become paramedics or emergency medical technicians (EMTs).

“It opens their eyes to the field,” Bartkowiak said.

The MOVAC vehicles that were at Herkimer BOCES were ambulance No. 623, ambulance No. 604 and fly car No. 516. Health Science Careers and Criminal Justice students toured the vehicles in front of the Herkimer BOCES William E. Busacker Complex in Herkimer.
