Four Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES Valley Pathways in Technology Early College High School students recently walked the graduation stage at Herkimer College before even completing high school.

Students start VP-TECH at Herkimer BOCES in ninth grade and have the opportunity to earn an associate degree through Herkimer College while in the program. VP-TECH focuses on technology, project-based learning and real-world work situations. Students simultaneously earn high school and college credits.

The following VP-TECH students who are earning associate degrees were able to participate in the 58th annual Herkimer College Commencement on Friday, May 15 (and are listed with their associate degree major, home school district and Herkimer BOCES Career and Technical Education program:

-Caleigh Youker (business administration, Dolgeville Central School District, Conservation)

-Kaden Kleist (computer and network security, Dolgeville Central School District, Network Administration)

-RaVonn Burks (computer and network security, Herkimer Central School District, Network Administration)

-Ross Richard III (computer and network security, Herkimer Central School District, Network Administration)

Youker and Kleist have completed all of their course work and have already earned their associate degrees. Burks and Richard will be finished up a course or two this summer to complete their associate degrees.
