Herkimer BOCES logo in two shades of blue and the slogan creating opportunities for growth

Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES was notified in the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 12, of two confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 affecting Career and Technical Education programs at the William E. Busacker Complex in East Herkimer.

Contact tracing revealed that more than two-thirds of CTE students would have to remain out of school for the next 10 days, so all CTE programs are switching to virtual instruction immediately through Sunday, Jan. 24, with a return to in-person instruction on Monday, Jan. 25.

Extra cleaning and sanitizing will be conducted in the CTE classrooms and throughout the building.

All other Herkimer BOCES programs will continue with their regular schedules.

Herkimer BOCES works closely with the Herkimer County Public Health Department on the contact-tracing and decision-making process. Health officials will determine who among staff and students needs to be quarantined or take any follow up steps and will directly contact them.

Further information and announcements will be provided as updates are available.

Families with any further questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the Herkimer BOCES district office at 315-867-2023.
