Adult LPN Program Student Spotlight:

Name: Danielle Riesel

Class: Part-time evening (starting January 2022, graduating June 2023)

Where do you live: Newport

Tell us about your family: I have two beautiful daughters, and I have an identical twin sister in RN school who will graduate the same time as me.

Tell us about your past work experience: I started in nursing at 16 and have been in nursing since. My mom graduated this same school in 1993. I was meant to be a nurse.

Why do you want to be a nurse? I would like to help people the way nurses have helped my family when they were sick. A lot of my nurses at work tell me all the time I’d make an amazing nurse.

Why did you pick this program? I’ve heard a lot of good things. I also wanted to follow in my mother’s footsteps.

What do you find most challenging? Leaving my family.

What do you find most rewarding? Seeing the patients get better and thanking me.

What do you want to do after nursing school? I would like to work where I have been for six years, at Little Falls Hospital. We are like a big family there.
