Adult LPN Program Student Spotlight:

Name: Kristine Neuschel

Class: Part-time evening (graduating June 2022)

Where do you live: Richfield Springs

Tell us about your family: I am a single mom with an 18-year-old daughter who is also in college to pursue nursing.

Tell us about your past work experience: I worked in food service for many years to accommodate my daughter. As she got older and more self-sufficient, I was able to find steady employment in a doctor’s office. It has allowed me to pursue this opportunity.

Why do you want to be a nurse? I naturally am a nurturing person. I want to help people in need. And I’m very fascinated with the human body and its workings.

Why did you pick this program? The convenience and flexibility, hands down!

What do you find most challenging? Balancing a full-time job, a home, a college student and homework.

What do you find most rewarding? Seeing the faces of the patients we get to tend to during clinicals make all the hard work worth it!

What do you want to do after nursing school? My ultimate goal is to work in cardiology (which is where I currently work) and go on to receive my RN to BSN. After that, I’d really like to become part of the structured heart team at MVHS. If that’s not possible, then at least become a procedure nurse at my current job.
